I was diagnosed 2 years ago; but only
started on metformin in August 2001 when I went to see an endocrinologist.
Right now I am on metformin and am trying to get the sugars down
with diet & exercise so I can cut that down over the next two
years. I recently did a cleanse that was safe for diabetics and
it brought my sugars down to the normal range. I then saw a naturopath
who is trying me on something else; they tested me as being sensitive
to wheat, rice and pork so am trying to avoid them. I do plan on
going back to the cleanse diet which eliminates wheat, dairy, and
sugar as I felt much better on it.
