Hi! I'm Malcolm

The following information is not prescriptive. It's the approach I've used, but I tend to do things first and ask questions later. This can cause problems! Before taking any supplement, seek the advice of your MD (Medical Doctor) or ND (Naturopathic Doctor).

I've been taking the supplements listed from January 1 until February 11, 2001. In addition to my own research, I've discussed my supplement regime with both my MD and ND. My initial approach was to take everything, at recommended therapeutic minimum levels, that could possibly help in reducing and controlling my blood glucose levels and then refine my supplements once my levels were under reasonable control. I have also focused on what was needed to create an environment within my body that would help it heal itself; this meant changing my diet and the use of antioxidants. I started with most of the supplements listed immediately during the first week of January and then added Fenugreek and EFA during the second week. I decided to visit an ND to get supplement advice based on the ongoing needs of my body chemistry.

I'm changing my multivitamin soon and will be adjusting my sources to reflect the ingredients within the new multivitamin (Quest Super Once a Day or Natural Factors Ultra Multi Plus; overall, I prefer the Natural Factors formulation but I like the timed release of the Quest and I already have some). I'm also adding a new supplement (Natural Factors GlucoBalance) that contains some of the supplements that I'm already taking, so some other adjustments will have to be made. With advice from my MD and ND, I hope to reduce my list of supplements by April 2001.
